Li Liufa: Industrial Tycoon

Li Liufa who is in his mid-50s earned an executive MBA degree from Peking University in 2006. In the late 1970s he worked at a fertilizer factory in Henan Province. Li later founded his own small steel casting factory. From there his privately held Tianrui Group has developed into a conglomerate with stakes in steel, cement, tourism, aluminum and minerals. Customers include the railway ministry of China. In 2013, revenues reached $1.7 billion.

Li serves as the Managing Director of the Group. He is the founder of the China Tianrui Group Cement Company Limited and serves as its Chairman and is primarily responsible for the overall strategic planning and management of the company’s business. Li served as Non Executive Chairman of Sanmenxia Tianyuan Aluminum Co. Ltd, since March 2006.

He was named “Model Worker of Henan Province” in 2002 and 1999. Li was elected in 2003 as a member of the 10 National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China. He was awarded “Star Entrepreneur” by the Henan Provincial People’s Government in January 2005.
