As Managing Director of Agency Development at Google Inc., Torrence Boone drives the company’s relationships with advertising and marketing firms throughout North America. As such, Boone and his team leverage the Google product portfolio, including Google Glass, Nexus 7 and Q, Chrome for iOS, and Google+, and create effective campaigns for ad agencies and their clients.

An honors graduate of Stanford University, where he earned a B.A. in Economics, Mr. Boone completed an M.B.A. at Harvard Business School. He began his career as a Senior Manager at consulting firm Bain & Company in Boston and later acted as Vice President/General Manager of Avenue A (now Razorfish), a New York digital-media enterprise. In his next position, he became President of Boston-based Digitas, another digital-media company. Subsequently, Torrence Boone participated in an innovative media experiment as CEO of Enfatico, a company created by WPP to consolidate Dell’s global marketing efforts. He accepted his current position in January 2010.

One might picture Torrence poring over annual reports or adding up figures on a next-generation calculator in his leisure time, but he actually enjoys rock climbing, practicing yoga, and taking the occasional dance class at the Broadway Dance Center or Steps Studio Inc. Discovering the joys of dancing as a 13-year-old student at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, he performed as a professional dancer at Jacob’s Pillow Dance in the Massachusetts Berkshires the summer after completing his M.B.A. A resident of Flatiron, Torrence Boone sits on the Board of Directors of the Joyce Theater in Manhattan, which presents the arts of dance and choreography.
